There is nothing that Dr. Bridget Marone cannot cure, thanks to power of the search engine, Google, but she seems lost when it comes to her own tumultuous love life. Her obsession with the sexy sailor Nick Marone (Jack Wagner), since the dashing captain hit the shores of Los Angeles, has reduced her into arguably one the biggest pushovers on daytime.

The beautiful doctor, who has been played over the years by the troika of multi Emmy winner Jennifer Finnigan, Emily Harrison and the talented Ashley Jones, has been unable to get over her fixation for a man who calls her mother, Brooke Logan, the love of his life and is now expecting a child with her aunt, Katie Logan (Heather Tom) . The recent episode where the brilliant doctor took an overnight bag over to the Marone mansion and begged her ex-husband/ex-stepfather to give their train-wreck of a love story another chance, illustrates the reason the audience at large is tiring of the writing for Bridget and calling her the doormat of the show.

"Bridget loves Nick and has been waiting in the wings for another chance to be with him for a very long time. Her love story was cut short when she had to give him up to her mother after the death of their daughter, Nicole. She is not going to let that happen again", smiles Bridget's portrayer, Ashley Jones (ex Megan Y&R).

Jones delves into the intricacies of the Nick/Bridget relationship. "Bridget is Nick's soul-mate and Nick is the love of Bridget's life. She is the only person with the patience, tolerance and forgiveness of spirit that allows her to accept Nick with all his faults and love him for his flaws. Nick and Bridget share a passionate love story filled with more downs than ups but fate has always made them find a way back to one another.”

Nick and Katie are with child after sharing a night of passion in Catalina, an outing that Bridget planned inorder to make the last days of Katie’s life memorable. So how will Bridget handle Katie and Nick's ultimate betrayal? "I know Ashley would kick their butts to the curb," laughs Jones, "but Bridget is made of milder stuff. She always sees the good in people and can understand their motivations. So after being devastated, she learns to let go of the anger and resentment. She has a beautiful spirit. She forgave her mother sleeping with two of her husbands and she loves Nick far too much to stay upset with him for too long.”

Does Katie and the bun in her oven, pose a threat to Nick and Bridget's marriage? "Well the realization that the man she loves has cheated on her with a woman she treats as her best friend, will not be an easy pill to swallow for Bridget," contends Jones. "I think it will make her evaluate a lot of things about her own character, the relationships in her life and might provide her with the perfect opportunity to evolve into a woman made of sterner stuff, if the writers will let that happen. I do not want Nick and Bridget's marriage to end but I want Nick to realize that he cannot take Bridget for granted and would love to see him groveling for forgiveness. At the end of the day, Nick needs to realize he has a woman in Bridget who loves him above all, while Katie is the guy pal he can hang out with, at Chuck's".

Jones talks about the camaraderie with onscreen co-star and close friend, Jack Wagner. "Jack and I love working with one another. We bring out the best in each others performance and have a very comfortable working relationship. Both of us believe in the love story of Nick and Bridget and are thrilled that we have another opportunity to please millions of our fans who write in everyday asking for a real chance for the couple that has been take from them repeatedly. I hope Nick and Bridget can overcome the latest challenge that Katie poses. I know that is what our fans want and I hope the writers give Nick and Bridget some lasting happiness this time around.”

Io devo dire che non capisco Ashley Jones quando si ostina a dire che quella fra Bridget e Nick è una grande storia d'amore.....se facesse un giro sul web vedrebbe che praticamente tutti non li sopportano insieme.....specie se paragoniamo questa coppia a quella formata da Nick&Brooke o da Nick&Taylor, che hanno un gradimento che definire di gran lunga superiore è essere riduttivi......

Capisco che sia felice per essere tornata in prima linea e che di fatto Bridget non ha molte scelte attualmente essendo imparentata quasi con tutti....però dai....tutto questo entusiasmo.....
